I started “Kyla’s Snail Mail - Art Club”

Welcome to my little corner of the art world! I’ve always loved the magic of finding something unexpected in the mail, so I created the Snail Mail Art Club as a way to share a little piece of my art studio with you each month. Every month you’ll receive a small collection of artwork I’ve created, along with a letter, sticker, and a few little surprises as a special thank you for sticking around. Think of it as happy mail from an artist friend: something tangible, personal, and made with love, arriving right at your doorstep. 🐌💌 These are great for any age, but if you let me know a little bit about you when you sign up, I would love to add special surprises for you depending on your age, gender, and interests!

A Little About Me:

Hi, I’m Kyla! I graduated from Ball State University in 2017 with my BFA in Studio Art, with an emphasis in Photography and Intermedia Arts. During my time there, I took several printmaking courses as electives and completely fell in love with the process. You’ll see that influence throughout a lot of my work, often mixed with another huge love of mine...nature.

I’m from Muncie, Indiana, where I live with my two daughters, ages 3 and 4, and what has become a pretty impressive collection of living things. We have a dog, three cats, tons of snails and isopods, Grey Tree Frogs, a Red-Eared Slider Turtle, blue and red crayfish, jumping spiders, and 10 koi fish in our outdoor pond.

Then there’s my garden...

I have a large side-yard garden that I spend as much time in as I can. It’s honestly my safe and happy place. I like to say that I take care of my garden, but in a lot of ways, it takes care of me, too. My love for plants, tiny creatures, and the natural world finds its way into so much of what I create.

A few other things that make me sooo happy: being outdoors, fall weather, cozy sweaters and bare feet, ’90s alternative rock, pretty much any live music, Diet Pepsi, creating with my hands, and finding moss while I’m out exploring. Finding a really good patch of moss makes me embarrassingly giddy.

I’m happiest when I’m creating, exploring, growing something, or surrounded by living things.

I’m so excited to have you along for this journey and to be able to share my artwork and little pieces of the things I love with you. I hope something I create makes you smile, brings a little bit of nature into your space, or reminds you to notice the tiny, beautiful things around you.
